Estée Lauder double wear foudation

FullSizeRender 3

This is the most amazing foundation i have ever tried. Recently i have been on the hunt to find a new foundation to suit my skin and one that is durable throughout the day. I’ve tried a few drug stores like maybelline and witch but they just down quite do it for me. I used to swear by the no7 beautifully matt foundation however my mum started to notice how the colour wasn’t matching my neck therefore i had a line. I really HATE having a foundation line, it bugs me so much. So i went back and got my colour re tested and it came back with the same colour – calico. So this is where my hunt started, i never thought i would fall for a high end foundation, i always thought whats the point? it only costs so much more, what could it possibly do that is better?

Well, i was so wrong. I have been using this foundation for a few weeks now and i love it. It glides beautifully on your skin and stays on throughout the day – exactly what i was looking for. I went into boots where a lovely lady sat me down to do a colour test. we swatched some shades on my neck and looked at what colour suited me best, she gave me two samples and told me to use both and see which tone i preferred more, one was more pale and one was a little more tanned but both shades suited the colour of my neck fine. she told me it was totally what i preferred in the light. I took these samples home and they lasted me about 2 and a half weeks… which was brilliant a little goes a long way.

This foundation is quite pricey however you only need a little and it last ages as i found with the samples. So  purchased the full size product which costs £31. I can assure you this is no normal foundation it claims to be non transferring, suitable for all skin types, 15 hours staying power, non colour changing or smudging, flawless no matter what heat or humidity, light weight and comfortable. Now that is a lot to live up to. I would say that i agree with everything they claim (apart from 15 hours staying power because i haven’t worn it for that period of time) because this foundation feels and looks flawless all day long. The thing i am most impressed with is the fact that it doesn’t transfer on to clothes. The semi – matt finish makes your skin look so natural but at the same time evens out all the unwanted oil from your pores. Its a medium coverage that is very buildable. It has spf 10 to protect your skin in the sun. With 44 shades to choose from your sure to find the shade which is perfect for you, i wear the shade 1co shell, this suits my skin absolutely amazing.

So this is an honest review of what i thought of the Estée Lauder double wear foundation. Hope you enjoyed reading! don’t forget to like and comment below.

Mini LUSH haul

Recently i took a trip to lush and picked up a few new bath products that i wanted to share with you. I love lush as a brand because all their products are animal cruelty free therefore it’s a brand i love to support. All their products are handmade and try to use mainly natural ingredients but with still vibrant colour and fragrances.

You’ve been mangoed bath melt – £2.25

This is known as ‘a citrus wake up call’ i know this must be true because of the smell being so strong and fresh. With uplifting lemongrass, mango and avocado butters, lemon and lime oils it gives a tropical, refreshing fragrance which instantly relaxes you. Although i have never tried a bath melt before i know that it will be really nourishing because of the oils involved.

Baa bar bubble bar – £3.95

Have you ever tried counting sheep? This bubble bar smells of lavender heaven, with comforting rose, lavender and ylang ylang which is perfect insurance for a good night sleep. Little handfuls of soya add softness, while clove bud oil adds warmth. A hint of bergamot encourages notes of lavender and violet. This leaves your baths in a lilac fog but at a small cost, meaning you only need to break off a little piece and crumble under running water.

Tisty tosty bath bomb – £3.50

This is known as an ‘enchanting love spell’. This cute heart shaped bath bomb is scented with geranium, jasmine and rose. Studded with seven real rosebuds, it is scented with a captivating combination of floral orris root powder, rose, and lemon. Tisty Tosty is based on a medieval love potion. Although this bath bomb ‘doesn’t do much’ (not colourful or exciting to an extent) the scent makes up for it.

Ickle baby bot bath bomb – £1.95

This a perfect treat before bedtime because of the calming lavender. This is the most delicate, soothing and calming bath bomb on offer. I have repurchased this many times because it leaves your skin feeling so refreshed, also it’s only £1.95! This leaves your bath in a blue blur. This heavenly product is definatly one of my favourites from lush.

Sex bomb bath bomb – £3.75

This bomb’s made for lovin’. This bright pink bomb smells and looks amazing. This bath bomb is suitable for tiredness, stress and anxiety. The fragrant blend of jasmine, ylang ylang and clary sage will soon have you relaxed and calm, in the perfect mood. Clary sage clears the mind, while ylang ylang is renowned for soothing worries. The little rose beautifully glides along the water to create a soothing atmosphere.

Creamy candy bubble bar – £2.95

This bundle of bright pink with the scent of luscious candy floss is a perfect sweet treat. With a mixture of almond and cocoa butter which offers extra moisturisation. Creamy Candy contains almond oil and butter chunks that melt onto the surface of the water, giving skin a velvety texture. This creates a pink heaven to step into, you only need a little chunk to make your bathroom fill with sweet fragrance.

I hope you enjoyed this mini lush haul, don’t forget to comment below and give it a like.

Interview : Rosie Baird

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

For this post i have interviewed Rosie Baird, One of my really good friends and an amazing photographer. She has an Instagram @rosie.baird with just over 3k followers, which she uploads photographs she has taken on her travels. She also has a youtube channel where she creates photography videos of different places she has been around the world.

QUESTION 1: How do you feel about having over 3k followers on your photography account?

It’s pretty surreal – when i first started out i really didn’t expect to get anymore than 100 followers but the more i improved my feed the more followers came with it. it makes me really happy to think that over 3k people decided to follow me and show support for my photos, and i look forward to the future with my account 🙂

QUESTION 2: What made you start doing photography and what encouraged you to start an Instagram account dedicated to it?

I’ve been doing photography ever since i was little – on my mums old iphone 2, an ipad and then finally a camera. i’d never really taken it very seriously until i found Instagram and got inspired by tons of accounts on there such as @jamesrelfdyer , @fursty , @andrewtkearns & @samuelelkins. i realised how much photography meant to me and decided that i wanted to share my photos online just like all the other photographers i’d seen. the amount of positive feedback the Instagram community has given me has inspired me to carry on taking pictures and to improve my skills as much as i can.

QUESTION 3: When you go on your travels, what do yo take with you and why?

I like to travel light, just one bag with the obvious essentials ( some clothes, toiletries etc ) and then my camera equipment. i usually just take my canon 600d body and then my 24-105mm lens along with some usbs so i can upload my photos to instagram whilst i’m away. i’ve recently just bought myself a phantom 4 and will definitely be taking that with me on my future travels.

QUESTION 4: If you had to give 3 tips for people starting to do photography what would they be?

1. practice makes perfect. you won’t improve unless you keep taking photos and experimenting with different styles.

2. don’t do it for the wrong reasons. if you’re starting photography to get rich and famous on instagram, you shouldn’t be doing it at all.

3. do it for yourself. it doesn’t matter what other people think of your photos, only what you think of them.

QUESTION 5: Who has influenced you the most?

I think that as much as the photographers i aspire to have pushed me to try and level with their abilities, my friends that i have made over instagram have influenced me the most. over the 2 years i have been doing photography on instagram i have met some really great people that have taught me lots about photography and without them i wouldn’t be where i am today.

QUESTION 6: How do you educate yourself to take better photos?

I’m a self taught photographer so i’ve never taken any lessons before, meaning many things i’ve learnt how to do i’ve had to teach myself. as i’ve said before a lot of friends i’ve made through the instagram community have educated me quite a lot about photography and cameras, and i’ve also learnt a lot by watching tutorial videos on youtube.

QUESTION 7: Among you work, which is your favourite post and why?

I’d say my recent posts where i’ve been trying out different things with fairy lights. i’ve been trying to mix up my feed for 2017 and i’m really happy with how they came out.

Ones like this on my feed.

QUESTION 8: What is the one thing you wish you had known when you started taking photos?

Probably not to care about my feed that much as i used to end up barley posting any photos as i was afraid they’d mess up my feed. i also wish i didn’t care about likes and following as much as i did 🙂

Thank you for answering my questions Rosie! Thank you for reading this post i hope you have enjoyed reading and don’t forget to check out Rosie’s  amazing photography account @rosie.baird on Instagram.
