Estée Lauder double wear foudation

FullSizeRender 3

This is the most amazing foundation i have ever tried. Recently i have been on the hunt to find a new foundation to suit my skin and one that is durable throughout the day. I’ve tried a few drug stores like maybelline and witch but they just down quite do it for me. I used to swear by the no7 beautifully matt foundation however my mum started to notice how the colour wasn’t matching my neck therefore i had a line. I really HATE having a foundation line, it bugs me so much. So i went back and got my colour re tested and it came back with the same colour – calico. So this is where my hunt started, i never thought i would fall for a high end foundation, i always thought whats the point? it only costs so much more, what could it possibly do that is better?

Well, i was so wrong. I have been using this foundation for a few weeks now and i love it. It glides beautifully on your skin and stays on throughout the day – exactly what i was looking for. I went into boots where a lovely lady sat me down to do a colour test. we swatched some shades on my neck and looked at what colour suited me best, she gave me two samples and told me to use both and see which tone i preferred more, one was more pale and one was a little more tanned but both shades suited the colour of my neck fine. she told me it was totally what i preferred in the light. I took these samples home and they lasted me about 2 and a half weeks… which was brilliant a little goes a long way.

This foundation is quite pricey however you only need a little and it last ages as i found with the samples. So  purchased the full size product which costs £31. I can assure you this is no normal foundation it claims to be non transferring, suitable for all skin types, 15 hours staying power, non colour changing or smudging, flawless no matter what heat or humidity, light weight and comfortable. Now that is a lot to live up to. I would say that i agree with everything they claim (apart from 15 hours staying power because i haven’t worn it for that period of time) because this foundation feels and looks flawless all day long. The thing i am most impressed with is the fact that it doesn’t transfer on to clothes. The semi – matt finish makes your skin look so natural but at the same time evens out all the unwanted oil from your pores. Its a medium coverage that is very buildable. It has spf 10 to protect your skin in the sun. With 44 shades to choose from your sure to find the shade which is perfect for you, i wear the shade 1co shell, this suits my skin absolutely amazing.

So this is an honest review of what i thought of the Estée Lauder double wear foundation. Hope you enjoyed reading! don’t forget to like and comment below.

Mini LUSH haul

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Recently i took a trip to lush and picked up a few new bath products that i wanted to share with you. I love lush as a brand because all their products are animal cruelty free therefore it’s a brand i love to support. All their products are handmade and try to use mainly natural ingredients but with still vibrant colour and fragrances.

You’ve been mangoed bath melt – £2.25

This is known as ‘a citrus wake up call’ i know this must be true because of the smell being so strong and fresh. With uplifting lemongrass, mango and avocado butters, lemon and lime oils it gives a tropical, refreshing fragrance which instantly relaxes you. Although i have never tried a bath melt before i know that it will be really nourishing because of the oils involved.

Baa bar bubble bar – £3.95

Have you ever tried counting sheep? This bubble bar smells of lavender heaven, with comforting rose, lavender and ylang ylang which is perfect insurance for a good night sleep. Little handfuls of soya add softness, while clove bud oil adds warmth. A hint of bergamot encourages notes of lavender and violet. This leaves your baths in a lilac fog but at a small cost, meaning you only need to break off a little piece and crumble under running water.

Tisty tosty bath bomb – £3.50

This is known as an ‘enchanting love spell’. This cute heart shaped bath bomb is scented with geranium, jasmine and rose. Studded with seven real rosebuds, it is scented with a captivating combination of floral orris root powder, rose, and lemon. Tisty Tosty is based on a medieval love potion. Although this bath bomb ‘doesn’t do much’ (not colourful or exciting to an extent) the scent makes up for it.

Ickle baby bot bath bomb – £1.95

This a perfect treat before bedtime because of the calming lavender. This is the most delicate, soothing and calming bath bomb on offer. I have repurchased this many times because it leaves your skin feeling so refreshed, also it’s only £1.95! This leaves your bath in a blue blur. This heavenly product is definatly one of my favourites from lush.

Sex bomb bath bomb – £3.75

This bomb’s made for lovin’. This bright pink bomb smells and looks amazing. This bath bomb is suitable for tiredness, stress and anxiety. The fragrant blend of jasmine, ylang ylang and clary sage will soon have you relaxed and calm, in the perfect mood. Clary sage clears the mind, while ylang ylang is renowned for soothing worries. The little rose beautifully glides along the water to create a soothing atmosphere.

Creamy candy bubble bar – £2.95

This bundle of bright pink with the scent of luscious candy floss is a perfect sweet treat. With a mixture of almond and cocoa butter which offers extra moisturisation. Creamy Candy contains almond oil and butter chunks that melt onto the surface of the water, giving skin a velvety texture. This creates a pink heaven to step into, you only need a little chunk to make your bathroom fill with sweet fragrance.

I hope you enjoyed this mini lush haul, don’t forget to comment below and give it a like.

What i got for my 15th birthday

IMG_0328.JPG

IMG_0329.JPG

As you might know it was my birthday a couple of weeks ago on the 5th of February. I turned 15 years old and recieved loads of lovely gifts i wanted to share with you. This post is not to brag, I personally just love reading these type of posts and they always give me really good ideas of what to ask for. These presents are from my family and friends, i love all of them so much! Thank you to everyone who brought me a gift i love it 🙂

The first item i got was the hp sprocket, now if you don’t know already the sprocket prints polaroid style photos from your phone. I love this so much because its’s really handy when your out with your friends and you want to print some photos out because of it’s size is perfect for carrying about in you bag. I have also been using this to print out photos for my scrapbook because every photo you print, you have the option to peel off the back and it then becomes a sticker, i have found this so good for scrap booking because its so easy and convenient.

The second item that i got was a scrapbook, I’ve been wanting one of these for quite a long time now and i really really like it. I think that these days i have way too many photos which just stay on my phone and realistically they just get lost or deleted by accident, but by putting them in a scrapbook makes them so much nicer to look at and display. I have loads of memories in my scrapbook and it will hopefully be something i keep and look back on when i am older.

The next product i got is the smash box photo finish primer water, i love this product to absolute pieces because it primes, fixes, holds and refreshes my make up. It can do so many things and it defiantly makes my make stay in place all day and makes my make up apply much nicer. Overall this product is just perfect for on the go as a refresh to make your make up look much more glowy.

Then the next item is the party to the peepers eye kit by benefit. It includes 3 creaseless colour wash shadows and a mini they’re real mascara. Honestly, for contouring you eyes this works miracles! Its so good as a base and then you can deepen the crease and highlight the inner corner further which is what i normally do. The darkest shade (which i think is go taupeless but I’m not exactly sure) is a great transition shade for the outta crease area. I really really like this kit and it has the cutest packaging, it comes in a metal tin and the front is almost a 3d effect. I love it!

I also received macs velvet teddy lipstick and mini prep and prime skin base. I haven’t actually had chance to try this yet but its such a lovely nude colour which i can imagine going well with any make up look. What i love about macs lipstick formula is that they last all day and never feel sticky or drying, so thats why i love macs lipsticks so much.

Anther item i received was the dirty works heavenly hands kit. This includes a hand lotion, nail buffer and a little make up/beauty bag. This is a really lovely and i especially love the buffer because i think that really makes a difference to you nails. I haven’t got round to trying the hand lotion yet but I’m sure it’s brilliant. The little beauty bag really comes in handy for storing things in and especially for popping make into for on the go.

The next item i received was the soap and glory ‘take you pink’ paper set. This includes a variety of minis from the basic sent which are clean on me shower gel, the righteous body butter, scrub of your life body scrub, hand food non greasy hand lotion and a full size pink body polisher. I really love soap and glory as a brand and i really like all there products. I also really really like the scent from the original range because it is just so relaxing.

The next thing i relieved was the jack wills english velvet set, which i love the scent of. I think this set makes such a lovely gift and i think that i will use everything thats inside. I really love the hand lotion in particular because it moisturises your hands so well. When i have had jack wills skincare before I’ve really liked it so I’m sure i am gunna like this just as much.

The next thing i received was the ‘tender love + carry’ copper vanity case. I love this SO much because if you don’t know already i LOVE  all things copper so the fact that this vanity case is all copper is a dream. This is really great for storing make up in or skincare products or even jewellery, i think i might store my make up favourites or just lipsticks in there. Another great thing about this vanity case is that theres a detachable mirror inside this is so handy for doing eye make up or mascara, it really gives good precision.

I also received the absolutely fabulous A5 notebooks by CGB , these notebooks are so lovely because they are just the right size for jotting down notes. I love the designs of these notebooks. They are lined inside so they’re really good for writing in. I’m not quite sure what to do/write in them yet I’m still deciding, because i don’t want to ruin them by writing rubbish in them (which is what i normally end up doing).

Thank you so much to everyone who brought me presents, i chose not to put clothing or money in this because i didn’t really know how to display them but never the less it doesn’t mean i was any less grateful for them, so thank you very much if you brought me money or clothing. Thank you for sticking around till the end and reading this very long blog post, hope you enjoyed and don’t forget to like and comment below!

What i got for my 15th birthday

Berlin

FullSizeRender.jpg
BERLIN WALL

On the 2nd of march i went on a trip along with my school to Berlin. It was one of the best school trips i have been on i made so many great friendships.I left school early and went to the airport. We arrived in Germany quite late and when we got to the hostel we un-packed, had dinner and went to sleep.

The next day we woke up bright and early to have breakfast. After breakfast we travelled on the train to Oranienburg concentration camp. This was the most powerful and intense experience i have ever had. Oranienburg was one of the first concentration camps in Germany, it was used for a force labour camp. It was established by the Nazis in 1933 and grew rapidly until 1936. Going inside was like nothing i have ever encountered before, the feeling of emptiness, terror and silence struck me. As i read the information posters that shared so many terrors and torchers which occurred there i could not believe what i was reading. I would really recommend a visit to the concentration camp because it is an experience which is going to stay with me for a life time. After we had a 3 and a half hour tour we got the train to the olympic stadium which was sadly closed but we still managed to have took at the outside and take a few photos. Then later than evening we took a trip out to Reichstag (German government) It was amazing to see the whole of Berlin lit up, if you don’t already know the Reichstag has a dome at the top which you can visit and see the whole of Berlin. It was absolutely beautiful i would defiantly go again.

REICHSTAG DOME

Day 3, we got up and had breakfast, after that we headed off to go to the jewish museum, which was fascinating. I particularly loved the piece of art work which was loads of metal faces in a room, you walk across them and they make a really loud sound, This is to represent the pain the jews went through. After the jewish museum we went to check point Charlie and the check point Charlie museum, which was great too. After that we took a stroll to the holocaust memorial in central Berlin. This was one of my favourite parts of the trip because although it was a sad place of remembrance it is also a place full of care and kindness. Next we walked a short way along to the Pariser Platz which was really great as the sun was just setting and it is so beautiful, its also the most popular photo destination in the whole of Berlin. Next we went to the remain of the Berlin wall this was really great too because it was so interesting how you can still touch it, just opposite from this is the Topography of Terror, Which was also very interesting to see the Gestapo and SS headquarters all mapped out  and defiantly a worth while visit.

PARISER PLATZ

Day 4, After breakfast we visited the story of Berlin, This was really really good because it was an interactive museum so there were loads of things to do and i really enjoyed it. After this we went down into an old bunker, which was really creepy and silent, The lighting is green and blue, which makes you feel very on edge. It was used as a protection from bombs. After this we went shopping and ate lunch. Then it had unfortuantly come to the time to go home, we travelled back to the airport by train and hoped on our flight back to England. And thats where the tips ends.

I had an amazing time in Berlin, and i would really recommend visiting. Thank for reading!

Interview : Rosie Baird

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

For this post i have interviewed Rosie Baird, One of my really good friends and an amazing photographer. She has an Instagram @rosie.baird with just over 3k followers, which she uploads photographs she has taken on her travels. She also has a youtube channel where she creates photography videos of different places she has been around the world.

QUESTION 1: How do you feel about having over 3k followers on your photography account?

It’s pretty surreal – when i first started out i really didn’t expect to get anymore than 100 followers but the more i improved my feed the more followers came with it. it makes me really happy to think that over 3k people decided to follow me and show support for my photos, and i look forward to the future with my account 🙂

QUESTION 2: What made you start doing photography and what encouraged you to start an Instagram account dedicated to it?

I’ve been doing photography ever since i was little – on my mums old iphone 2, an ipad and then finally a camera. i’d never really taken it very seriously until i found Instagram and got inspired by tons of accounts on there such as @jamesrelfdyer , @fursty , @andrewtkearns & @samuelelkins. i realised how much photography meant to me and decided that i wanted to share my photos online just like all the other photographers i’d seen. the amount of positive feedback the Instagram community has given me has inspired me to carry on taking pictures and to improve my skills as much as i can.

QUESTION 3: When you go on your travels, what do yo take with you and why?

I like to travel light, just one bag with the obvious essentials ( some clothes, toiletries etc ) and then my camera equipment. i usually just take my canon 600d body and then my 24-105mm lens along with some usbs so i can upload my photos to instagram whilst i’m away. i’ve recently just bought myself a phantom 4 and will definitely be taking that with me on my future travels.

QUESTION 4: If you had to give 3 tips for people starting to do photography what would they be?

1. practice makes perfect. you won’t improve unless you keep taking photos and experimenting with different styles.

2. don’t do it for the wrong reasons. if you’re starting photography to get rich and famous on instagram, you shouldn’t be doing it at all.

3. do it for yourself. it doesn’t matter what other people think of your photos, only what you think of them.

QUESTION 5: Who has influenced you the most?

I think that as much as the photographers i aspire to have pushed me to try and level with their abilities, my friends that i have made over instagram have influenced me the most. over the 2 years i have been doing photography on instagram i have met some really great people that have taught me lots about photography and without them i wouldn’t be where i am today.

QUESTION 6: How do you educate yourself to take better photos?

I’m a self taught photographer so i’ve never taken any lessons before, meaning many things i’ve learnt how to do i’ve had to teach myself. as i’ve said before a lot of friends i’ve made through the instagram community have educated me quite a lot about photography and cameras, and i’ve also learnt a lot by watching tutorial videos on youtube.

QUESTION 7: Among you work, which is your favourite post and why?

I’d say my recent posts where i’ve been trying out different things with fairy lights. i’ve been trying to mix up my feed for 2017 and i’m really happy with how they came out.

Processed with VSCO with e1 preset

Ones like this on my feed.

QUESTION 8: What is the one thing you wish you had known when you started taking photos?

Probably not to care about my feed that much as i used to end up barley posting any photos as i was afraid they’d mess up my feed. i also wish i didn’t care about likes and following as much as i did 🙂

Thank you for answering my questions Rosie! Thank you for reading this post i hope you have enjoyed reading and don’t forget to check out Rosie’s  amazing photography account @rosie.baird on Instagram.

January favourites

FullSizeRender.jpg

I know it’s a little late for January favourites as we are half way through February (which i can not believe) but i thought i would do this as i got a lot of new things to try from Christmas which i have loved throughout January!

My first favourite is the tanya burr liquid highlight, i really love the formula of this product because it doesn’t feel heavy and it just adds a subtle glow which i love! if you want more of a intense highlight i would recommend using a powder highlight on top (i have been using the tanya burr  powder highlight from the beautifully defined pallet). This liquid highlight is really beautiful and it’s really affordable as well.

My second favourite is the Kiko super gloss in the shade 106, normally I’m not the lip gloss kind of person, they are normally to sticky or quite a horrible texture but this lip gloss is none of that instead its’s smooth, silky  and creamy. The shade of this is like a pink shimmer and it goes with most make up looks. This brand is so affordable and their products are so good quality, it’s got to be one of my top favourite make up brands.

My next favourite is the Rimmel lasting finish concealer, i literally LOVE this product because it’s so high coverage and it’s not clingy. It is really long lasting and very durable which i find is a main feature i want in a concealer. I use this under my eyes, in the centre of my nose, on my chin and in between my eye brows because i use this to highlight with. I tend to get the shade 002 ivory which is perfect for my skin tone (for highlight). I normally use the real techniques contour brush to blend this concealer.

My fourth favourite is the Kiko smart eyeshadow pallet in the shade ’02 warm shades for an exotic look’. I really like the formula of these eyeshadow because they leave hardly any fall out and their pigmentation with out a primer is incredible in my opinion. My most used shades are 02,03,05,06,07 these shadows are just so gorgeous. This pallet is also perfect for traveling because its compact and slim, i recently took this on holiday and it was just the right size and just the right amount of shades.

And then the next favourite is the Zoella diffuser in the sent my eden. I received this for Christmas from my parents and the sent is amazing. I really like this because the smell is so strong and it fills the room, usually diffusers are quite weak in scent but this is honestly the best diffuser. This product is really affordable as well and the packaging is the nicest thing.

Moving onto Fragrance i’ve really been loving the Zoella beauty sweet inspirations body mist, this has such a lovely scent. I haven’t stopped spraying it all the way through January because it’s very light and sweet. I can honestly say that whenever I’ve gone to pick up a a perfume/body spray i have just kept reaching for this one as it is so wearable on a daily basis.

My next favourite skin care product is the formula daily care cleansing face wash. I really like this product because it really makes you skin feel smooth and fresh. It has really improved the look of my skin and the appearance of spots. After using this product i just use a night cream to moisturise my skin. You can buy this from M&S.
